About

Story

When I started working my first corporate job as an IT Network Administrator if felt as if I had finally made it in life. Before working in corporate I was still working my college job at a local hardware store making minimum wage. A friend knew that I had computer experience and since he was leaving that position he thought that I would be a good candidate to be his replacement. After passing the interview and receiving the job needless to say that my pay skyrocketed. I did what any 24-year-old would do after acquiring a significant bump in pay – I upgraded my life. I bought a new car and fancy new apartment. I was finally experiencing the good life. After working there for about 1 year they decided to lay me off, my position was not needed any more and consequently neither was I. Naturally with my new upgraded lifestyle I had grown accustom to I could now no longer afford. I was living in a city in which I had no family and no help. I felt vulnerable, scared and helpless at thought of not being able to pay my bills. I quickly applied to many different positions while trying to make ends meet. However, I did find another job, but it didn’t pay what I was used to.

I then decided that I would never allow my livelihood to be held in the palm of an employer. Ever since that experience I have been on the road to financial freedom with a goal to get out of the rat race. My ambition is to invite others along with me on this journey.
